Edmonton Up Next! : )

I'm booked for a lecture & slideshow with the Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild meeting on Wednesday, May 18th next week.

www.EDQG.ca

Here are some details from the EDQG's FB page:
"The meeting starts at 7:15 at the Royal Alberta Museum 12845 - 102nd Avenue, Edmonton.
Doors open at 6:30 to allow for purchasing of tickets for the Mystery and the Library draws,
sign up for workshops and events, browse through the Guild Library, and to chat with friends.
Please be aware that 102 Ave Bridge is completely closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Maps and other information for directions to get to the museum are available
on the guild's website at www.edqg.ca, in the column on the right on the home page.
The EDQG would like to invite all the Fort McMurray quilters to our May 18, 2016 Meeting.
The visitor's entrance fee will be waived for all our visiting Fort McMurray quilting friends
upon presentation of ID."
Isn't that terrrific?  No doubt, the world has heard about the wildfire that blew through the city of Fort McMurray, Alberta last week, forcing the entire city into mandatory evacuation.  It happened so fast.  How unbelievably devastating.  Many of the evacuees are staying in Edmonton which is a few hours south.  ***Donations can be made to the Red Cross.
By the way, I did inquire, and anyone is welcome to come to the meeting.  The quilt guild charges $7 at the door for non-guild members.  l'll be speaking for about 45 minutes.   I'll have a little sale table of art cards and small things available for purchase there at the meeting, as well as a handful of signed copies of a magazine I was featured in last year.  (It's a surprise...).   I'm bringing a bundle of goodies for a draw prize, and I'll have some show & tell things for you to look at as well.  Take good care and I'll see you then!  : )
