At the end of this month, I will be taking new pieces in to Handmade House on Broadway as feature artist during the months of June and July in Saskatoon. For this exhibit, I really want to get up close and personal with the prairie, and stitch as beautifully as I can. I'll still have some vistas available in threadpaintings... but I'm so inspired by the ever growing stash of yarns in my studio. I have chose the name "
Heart to Hand" for show. It's a phrase I use in my hand embroidery classes when I explain how to measure a length of embroidery thread. Margot taught me that - the thread need not be longer than your reach.
Heart to Hand - it also speaks to what I stitch. From my heart - the love for the prairie, stitched out by hand. For the remainder of this month I'm working on glimpses of what I love... and thoroughly enjoying it. : )
I'm working on a series of '
Spring Ground', similar to the pieces I made last spring for my Winnipeg exhibit. Once things get greener, I'll have some summer flora fibre art as well.

And so I stitch, and I stitch, and I stitch.
I hope you all had a lovely mother's day. : )
