Cloth, Paper, Scissors, Thread.

Oh... and a little glue stick too!  Today at the Saskatoon Quilter's Guild afternoon meeting, we had some creative time instead of the usual guest speakers.  It was fun!  Judy McCrosky (the woman who runs The Studio on Ninth) introduces fabric postcards and greeting card making to the group.  It didn't feel like much time had passed when there was announcement that the meeting was over!  Time flies when you are having fun.  I'm sure most of us spent a half hour just perusing the fabric, lace, doo-dads, and bling.  We did it sewing-machine-free and it was super quiet but busy in the room.  Here's what I made.

season's greetings cards

I love it!  I think it's simple, yet effective.  Inside the card stock window is a little piece of batik.  The stars are paper, the little snowflakes are stitched with variegated thread.

Our SQG library is so stocked right now - it's fabulous!  I signed out some machine embroidery books and binder full of Quilting Arts magazines that I haven't read.  SUPER!  I'm going to enjoy this little December break very much.  Of course, getting a break means my defenses are taking a break too.  Here comes the sore throat and achy muscles.  I'm coming down with something.  Ugh.

The good new is that I've already sold something in the exhibit I put up yesterday!  It will likely remain in the show for the duration, which is also good.  : )

The Winter Gathering - SOLD - thank you!!

I'll go in Tuesday morning to snap some photos for you all.  I can't wait to see it again.  Is it weird to go to stare your own show?  Wait - don't answer that.  lol  In my defense, I haven't really spent a lot of time with the finished pieces at all... so sure.  Not weird at all.  I think I'll head down and enjoy it while I can.

Take care,

Congratulations on the sale. It is a gorgeous piece! I've been playing a bit with paint lately making Xmas cards. It is fun.
You should enjoy looking at your show. It's like alluded to i think before in a post. After you're working up close with needle and thread, it's quite different to see it from afar.

Congrats! Everything?! That's fantastic, but not at all surprising. You put so much work and creative energy into your art. I'd be soaking it all in too... not weird at all.

Becky - you asked, 'everything?' ...not sure what you meant? It's not all sold, but it's all new and in the gallery so my walls are empty at home. There's one I'm hoping doesn't sell so I can bring it back home. : )

Gosh, I read that as everything, not something. Maybe I'm coming down with something too, (everything ? :-O...). Then again, it's also possible that I should really make that eye appointment that I've been putting off for 2 years now...

Not weird at all. There's great satisfaction in appreciating what you have made, especially when you won't be keeping it. Those photos will be precious.
