Hi there! I wanted to give a heads up that I'm teaching a 3 hour class during the day on Tuesday November 13th at Creative House. They are a local Janome and Wonderfil dealer, and last I heard there is space left. This is the same class I taught privately at Annette's home in Watrous. It is Basic Threadwork a.k.a. 'Threadpainting 101'.
I'll cover things like how to set up your machine for free motion, info and tips about thread, needles, tension, and stabilizer. We'll go through some easy practice techniques, and then begin a threadpainting. All you need to bring is your machine and thread: black, grey, white, and beige. This can be cotton or rayon or a bit of both in any shade. You can also bring any other lovely colors you'd like for practicing. You can see an example of a final sample project HERE. For those of you who feel you "can't draw" - this class is for you. No creative pressure needed. I'll supply everything else.
To register for this class, you can call Creative House Sewing and Embroidery @ 652-0455. Space is limited to a small class, however there was a recent cancellation. Thanks!
Welcome

Maybe one day (soon) you would consider teaching online?? (yes yes yes) : ) I would love to attend your threadpainting class but the commute is a little too far. Just a thought....
: ) It's been my plan for a long time, but I never fail to have a pack of noisy kids around me. That makes for pretty sad videos. Hopefully I'll get something serious together after the next 2 shows are up. I'm using the few quiet hours I have each day to prepare for that.

You should contact "Craftsy". They seem to be the up and coming video place on the web. I think they flew in Leah Day to do a shoot. I'd also love to see you on-line, but totally understand the kids all around thing, plus photography and video are SO not my strong points. All of those threads look incredible. I wish I lived in a place that had such a selection. Thank goodness for color charts and on-line retail!
Oh Becky- you must have not heard. I was all set up with Craftsy. They sent me the contracts and everything. We had several meetings. They were flying me to Denver earlier in September. I ended up declining because of the amount of commitment it would have meant over the summer when the 3 kids are home. Plus there was a big commitment to oversee the class for months afterward, and i had art exhibits to commit to. I know I made the right decision, but regret it now and then. The production would have been TOP notch! ; )

Oh how I wish I were there to take your workshop! Have fun.
