I Did it, I Dyed it.

Remember this?

I was pretty excited about it when I bought it this summer.  Well, last night I took out this cheapo kit from Michael's and tried it out.  It needed to soak in the dye for at least six hours.  So, I mixed up a batch of yellow (for canola) and blue (to make shades of green) and soaked some embroidery floss overnight.  This morning, all the floss is rinsed and drying.  Woohoo!  Lookie!

How do I LOVE these!?  They are just perfect for my work.  Yes ma'am!  ; ) I did make two batches of yellow.  One was in a deeper dye than the other, but really, you can't tell much, can you?  That's okay.  It is the yellow I had hoped for.  And those other shades!  (Can you tell I would type this all in caps because I'm so thrilled!??)

I particularly love that olive & ocre.  WOW!  I think I just DYED and went to heaven.  Hahaha!

I bought the same kit at Michael's a few weeks ago (on clearance). I haven't done it yet, but think I will have to after seeing your beautiful floss. Well done!

That is amazing!!! They're beautiful, and perfect for your work! I've done a little bit of dyeing in the past... mostly T-shirts, and want to do more. Maybe this'll motivate me.... Looks great!

Those are beautiful! For the next time if you want a beautiful deep gold add a tiny bit of purple or equal parts blue and red. You will have to experiment but it only takes a small amount of purple (like a 1:20 ratio) to get a beautiful deep gold.

They are all beautiful! I'm not familiar with the kit; make sure they tell you how to set the dye.

So funny, as soon as I saw those colors I instantly thought the same thing... those are so your colors. Can you see yourself using dye like that again soon? I like how saturated the colors are!
