Works in Progress Wednesday

August is a nice slow month.  Summer has been fabulous.  All my deadlines are in September.  Jesica will be in town to pick up her quilt then.  I'm going very slow on the border quilting because after ten minutes, my hands go numb.  But it's coming together and really there's not much work left.  I'll post a pic when it's complete. In the mean time, I'm just oogling over these stitches.  The woman who is purchasing this piece as a gift joked that she may want to keep it herself.  haha! Yeah - I'm feeling the same way!  It's so pretty and luscious.  I'm trying to save it to work on for Sunday's sewing demo at Prairieland Park, but I'm just enjoying this piece way too much!  : )

beauty in the details

This is the photo I keep by my side as I'm working on this.

Also in September, I'll need my Quilt Show entries finished.  Because they are being judged, I need to save all those posts for after.  Thanks to the little birdie who told me to keep it hush hush.  : )

our biennial show - it's a BIG one!

Finally, I'm working on a couple articles.  One is for A Needle Pulling Thread magazine.  (I'm going to be one of the featured artists in the Spring issue!!!).  The other is for Vicki Welsch and Terri Stegmiller's blog called "3 Creative Studios".  Every month, a third fibre artist joins up with tutorials.  I'm the September Guest!  There will be give-aways, and I'll be doing tutorials for thread sketching with an introduction to thread painting.  All this means lots of photography, editing, and hopefully a video too.  Go check it out!  They have lots in the archives!  click here for a sample:  3CS

have a great day!

Wow--you have a lot going on. I agree that sometimes our WIPs take the form of fabric and stitching and sometimes it's writing and the business of quilting.

Your current work is beautiful and I enjoy seeing the progress you are making. Congrats to you on being a featured artist! That's very exciting.

Your details are just superb. How nice to have a picture that gets BETTER the closer you get to it. Amazing.

Makes me want to pull out my embroidery...I think I need to live several lifetimes at once to conquer all the hand crafts I yearn to do...

The waving flowers in the foreground actually look so real I wondered if it was a photo. Spectacular.

Incredible detail with a needle, hours & hours of work but truly worth it, it is just beautiful to look into. I hope the new owner cherishes this piece of art. Cheers Glenda
