I have been holding on to this photo of mine for a while now. With the recent windfall of gorgeous threads, ribbons, and yarns from near & far, I knew it was time. Here it is!
I took that picture by a roadside parking lot at one of the conservation areas south of Saskatoon. I took a LOT of photos sitting there on the dusty road. I couldn't get over the purples, yellows, and greens. Back in my studio, I would have never in a million years guessed that I would be using these pastel party-mint colors in my prairie work! Flowers? Maybe. Grasses? Surprise!

OH! And the smell... have you ever rubbed sage in your fingers? Close your eyes for a moment and breath deeply while recalling that strong scent. ***I SWEAR I hallucinated while stitching these out. I swear to you that twice I
thought I smelled that heavy sage scent. Crazy, huh!?? I'm still confused by that one. My mom picked a big bag of it for me last year. It's up in my closet. I had to go pinch some off and breathe it in just to confirm that I was smelling it for real. Explain that to me?
Before photographing them, I placed mats over to square them up. They are a bit bigger that the window of the mat. I'll get them framed next week and have some properly cut textured matting put in. Okay! Here they are at about 5" by 5" each.

These are beautiful! Mary Ann
absolutely stunning
They are beautiful Monika! I love the colours and your stitching is perfect. Good luck with the council - what does SK stand for please? xx
beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!
your stitching is just beautiful and i love the pastel colors. to address your statement about 'hallucinating smells'. i have a thing with smells from the past. i tend to bring them back without any rhyme or reason. i always have to ask others around if they are smelling the same things i am to know for sure if it is just in my mind. i've had the gas company here a couple of times because i was smelling gas....all in my mind.
Oh, sorry! SK is short for my Canadian province, "Saskatchewan".
Oh...my. Your work is - are words adequate? - amazing. Inspiring. Mesmerizing. A gift. So glad I found your blog! Now to find some fabric and fiber; I have this sudden itch to stitch!
Monika, I always admire your beautiful work. But these 'take the cake'. The colors are astounding.
And thank you so much for the envelope of threads and fiber. Fun.
Have had guests in and out. But I will be looking for a picture to stitch today.

Those are just beautiful!
I found one of your beautiful pieces through Pinterest. Such varied and pretty landscapes and such infectious enthusiasm for your work. I need to go check out my stash!
When I was out of work, I had more free time for needlework. Now I work at essay writing service and I have very little free time, but now I can buy products from other masters.
