It was so incredibly silent out there. I love the silence. I love when the sun rose. The soft colors just continued on.

I love to get closer and closer. There's a whole other world full of fascination.
I think these fat frosty cattails are so amazing. They are fun to crack open - they are just FULL of fibres. Look how they hold the frost!

I love winter sun so much. We've been lucky with a very sunny winter this year. On the way back, I snapped this photo. I don't know why, but the sign makes me laugh. I love the quirky finds out here.
That red sign on the post reads, "Crop in Field". Living in the middle of what's known as the breadbasket of the world, I had to chuckle. I suppose that is there to announce that it's not a field for grazing livestock? Still, it made me giggle.
And the drifts in the sun - I love the sunny snowdrifts! : ) They are like a mini mountain range.

I'm enjoying the sunshine this winter - reminds me of yesteryear when winters were always sunny.
My interpretation of the sign on the pole is to warn snowmobilers that the field is planted and they should stay off. Not that it's likely to work.
One more day to get out with the camera before things get really challenging again!
