Sunday Snapshots - sun up to sun down

What a big day!  First, I went for a morning walk through downtown Winnipeg.

the grass is greener!

I found the park with the famous Golden Boy.  (omg  He is really naked, isn't he!?)

The Golden Boy (with his buns in the sun)

I took these with my new zoom lens.  It was really far away.  I wonder what they are talking about?

I love my new camera.  I can finally get good pictures of wildlife.

squirrel plays peek-a-boo (I see you!)

Then after breakfast I packed up and headed to McNally Robinson's community classrooms to do an 'Intro to Embroidery' workshop.  It was a great time - I think everyone left pretty happy and inspired. I definitely want to do that class again when I'm back in Saskatoon.  The only downfall was that we likely could have stitched TWICE as long as the class time allowed for. : )  There were fifteen people!  It was busy, wow.

Thank you !

THEN - more fun.  I headed into the restaurant to visit with old friends and new friends.  ; )  It was rather strange how many people at the table had ties to my home town of North Battleford!  WEIRD.

Prairie Berry Champagne and a birthday cupcake at Prairie Ink Restaurant

We stayed until after the restaurant closed.  It's such a pretty space!  I'm so excited to have my art in there.

Prairie Ink after hours

My friend Tara hung out to help me unpack all this art.  It was exciting to see my art again!

Six of twenty three.  set up time!

Mr. McNally hung all my work.  I am still so overwhelmed and grateful for this whole experience.  He spent a lot of time looking at a few of my pieces.  Like... he was really looking.  He asked a lot of questions about my art and my career.  I really enjoyed visiting with him.  What a nice man, and he has a great eye for arranging.  I was fully expecting to be out there for hours sweating over hanging that huge show.  So - thank you sir for all your hard work!  (And a big thank you to my friend Tara xo)

This Winnipeg location has one big, BIG 2 level bookstore!

Tara and I packed up my things and I drove her home.  It was such a nice night so we hung out visiting for a while in her back yard that overlooks the swelling Red River.

We laughed as we saw ducks floating sideways and backwards in the strong currents & swirls of the water.  What a pretty night it was.

good night over the Red River, Winnipeg

It was a very good birthday.  : )

watching the rivers swell in the spring must be a canadian pass time something like watching hockey

Yup, we watch our rivers go up and up -- we're hoping for a minimal flood this year. It was great to meet you yesterday and I'll check out your show soon, since I can't be there tonight. It was great to meet you.
