There's no denying it. Winter is STILL here, full force. More snow, more icy cold weather. The sun is FABULOUS so I'm feeling quite happy and energetic the way it fills my house. My friend Michelle and I had the BEST talk ever over the phone the other morning. We discussed creativity and chakras and blockages and intention. I am not partial to blue and have always had throat issues. She told me to work in blue. So today, I got dressed (in black, orange, and brown !?) and decided I need to work with blue. I found some beautiful fern leaf print fabric from my sweet pal Dahn from Whitehorse. I saw Jack Frost paintings when I first laid eyes on it. I dug it up out of my stash and started to free motion thread paint with my machine using metallic frosty thread. Take a look!

so delicate, reaching and extending |
WOW - I love that last one. I have a few framed up in white. They are so sparkly - I just adore them. It was good therapy. Thank you Ms. Flowers. : )
Have a sparkly, shiny weekend! ; )

WOW!!!!
Wow is right! I absolutely love these ferns--how beautiful. I am totally copying you and am going to do a few 'frost' ones as well. Is that metallic thread awesome or what?!? (ps--more fabric coming your way)..
yes, its great how the sun can energize you...sunny here too (Toronto)
Those are simply stunning!
Wow...double wow...fantastic!!!!! They are so beautiful.
What can I say??? Stunning! I just love that sparkle.
Oh Monica, they are exquisite!
We've till got several feet of snow here too. We're hoping to get in a little more snowshoeing.
Oh these are totally beautiful :))
Awesome!
We Still have snow here, too, though warmer temps are melting some of it this very minute. And the warm sunshine feels sooooo good! Your thread sketching is quite striking, beautiful. I must try longer stitches. BTW, the throat chakra is also about speaking your truth, and it seems you are doing just that.
How lovely, it really gives the frosty feeling of icy winter clinging to the ghostly ferns.... I love it!
I absolutely love these…. So gorgeous.
Glorious!
Wow oh wow!I have been a member of a local Broderers Guild for about 5 years and our little group of 30 or so members never tire of the inspiration and creativity of needle-workers everywhere.I am especially intrigued at how you combine machine embroidery with hand embroidery.Proof that both types of embroidery can co-exist and complement one another.Congratulations on having your work published in such a wonderful book.
What a great exercise to do! I can't believe your machine will let you do that kind of FM embroidery with metallic thread - lucky!
lovely......
