Sunday Snapshots

Thank you everyone for your supportive comments on yesterday's post.  Wow.  You are all some great people!  Now, on with Sunday Snapshots... what I REALLY live for: my sweet prairie.  On Friday at 3 pm, there was a tornado warning for our city.  It didn't amount to anything as far as I know, but the day was filled with rain, sun, rain, sun, rain... which made for some amazing sky!!  Finally at about 8 pm, I took my kids out to the Grasswood turnoff to capture the fabulous sky as the warning was lifted.  I am personally thrilled with these photos!  You can click on them to see them bigger.  Enjoy!!

Directly south.  Do you wonder how something so heavy with water can float in the air like that?!

to the east...

to the west...

The trees &  slough I photographed last October.  Recognize them?

the sky on the way back to the city

WOW!!  What do you think about those pictures?  I'm pretty thrilled.  Happy Sunday everyone!

I love the look of ominous clouds! Was able to watch a storm take shape and blow in and blow out from my work window the other day....always amazing to watch!

My pops in North Battleford said that Saskatchewan had over 50 tornado warnings yesterday. I miss those dark stormy skies. Love those photos, especially the last one! Cheers, Susan

I got some neat pics but on my iphone. By the time we got home after 6:30 the skies were realatively normal looking for a stormy day so didn't capture any with my real camera.

Great photos, Monika! You will have to use the first photo for an art piece for sure -such great contrast. I took your advice and emailed you know who last night. Now just keeping my fingers crossed. Even if it doesn't work out, I 've got a new storyboard for one of my own videos:)

I love that first photo Monika - such a dark sky and such a bright foreground. Beautiful :) And I too am proud of you for the decision you made regarding Crafty. Tough, but oh so right!

Wow! Those clouds are so low and look like they could burst at any moment. Fantastic photos! Best wishes, Tammy

My youngest daughter, the artist, and I look for skies that when painted, people would say, "That's so unreal." You found some of those.

The sky is like a video that's always running.

These are incredible shots, Monika!

And good for you for saying no... Better to say no respectfully than to regret a burdensome commitment later on. I admire you for it.
