Crappy Weather is Good for Something!

Sunday was dark and dreary and drizzly.  We're all getting over a flu.  It was a fantastic day.   No kidding!  I got so much done.  I am feeling terrific.  I accomplished so much on my quilt show entry that I took some time to do some stitching on a piece I started before the summer.  It glows!  I love how it's turning out.

I'm going to add a lot more little blossoms until the whole piece flourishes.  My fingers are actually getting sore.  It's a good pain.  ; )  I discovered that I really like using beeswax with embroidery floss.  I use it all the time when binding quilts.  On embroidery floss, one run over the wax really keeps the thread tangle free and smooooth.

I sat all day at my sewing table under many full spectrum lights.  It was weird to have to turn on lightbulbs in the day!  Then around supper time, the sun got low enough to cause some pretty glow... so out I dashed with my camera!  I drove out to my favorite spot and snapped away.

: )

I was sooo happy!  Oooh I caught some good ones.  Check this out... WOOOSH!

Now I have 2 guild meetings to go to today.  That makes 5 in 8 days.  Yeah... we are hard core.  lol  See you tomorrow and thanks for coming by.

Gorgeous skies - love the blue in the last one. Glad to see you use beeswax - our bees approve :)

Awe thanks! In the past I've just bought a pure beeswax tealight candle and kept it in a ziploc bag. I found this chunk at a health food store amongst the candle display. It's not a candle. Isn't it pretty!? : )

I've never waxed my embroidery floss, either. Interesting idea! I've started using Perle 8 in balls instead of floss - no more separating strands!

Gorgeous, gorgeous photos! I'll have to get my daughter to try beeswax with some beading she's trying.
