Happy Friday!
Guess what? Kit Lang was kind enough to show me how to edit my blog to make commenting work for EVERYONE (did you hear that Deb, Bernie, etc. etc.!?) I've been blogging for over a year and I constantly get private emails from people who can't comment. No one has ever offered to tell me how to fix it. Kit... she's smart. Thank you Kit! To celebrate, and see all those comments rolling in, I thought a giveaway would be a great way to test it out. How about some of the embroidery floss that I dyed this week? All you have to do is leave a comment.4 are variegated, 1 is solid. |
See you tomorrow for - - - Saturday Stitches - - - .

Always love a good giveaway Monika..thank you.
I saw your post where you dyed the threads, I'm tempted to go check out Michael's to see if I can find the same kit :)
Hi Monika :))
Just popping over to say hi and I love your threads - the colour shades are lovely.
Ooh! I'm just dyeing to use that floss..
Great colors that could be used with almost any stitching.Hmmmm what would I stitch with them .... maybe a cute little pin cushion
I didn't realize you were having commenting problems! Glad you got it figured out :)
The color of that floss is absolutely gorgeous - reminds me of spring :)
Of course I'd love to win these, but I'd like even better to find this dye kit online. It doesn't seem to be even on the Michael's site.
Help anyone?????
Love your blog! What a great, generous giveaway! Thanks for the chance!
Thanks for the mention, and you're very welcome. Between us, we rock. ;)
No need to enter me in the giveaway though.
Cheers!

I too have had many times my comments on different blogs not go anywhere but just said it was an error and I had no account. I am sure this will work. Nice of you to have a freebie to one lucky winner.
I agree with Kit, you both rock!
Those colours would be so perfect for a Spring themed project. And, they make me want to try dyeing threead.
This is a great giveaway and I'm glad you figured out the commenting problem.

Hey there Monika - I just wanted to pop in and tell you I'm so glad to have found your blog. I am new to Crazy Quilting but have been a stitcher off and on for 19 years. Your Prairie Stitching project is beautiful! I hope I can be that good some day. Anyways, just wanted to say hello.

IT WORKED! HOORAY!
molly - who is really too excited about something which is apparently too simple...
I love seeing your work and photos of the wide open spaces on flickr! these threads are gorgeous!! DebraSue2
Love the colors of your threads. Having something hand made is always so much more special than normally store bought threads.
great colours on the dyed threads Monika
What fabulous colours!
Count me in please!
I'm just starting to hand quilt and do a little more things by hand. This would be a great addition to my stash. Thanks for the chance to win.
Pretty floss! These colours just happen to be a good match for a quilt top I just made this summer (my first solo effort of which I'm most proud). You've inspired me to consider a few little embellishments.
I would love a chance to win the floss. I am following your Saturday Stitches and having a blast.
my goodness. Look at all the comments. vbsigh There gose my odds of winninh. LOL What did you do to fix it?
I love seeing My Sweet Prairie in my inbox everyday! Keep on keeping us inspired!
Thanks for making the change! It's a compatibility issue with Internet Explorer 7 that won't allow embedded comments.
Oh Monika, those threads are absolutely gorgeous... I must trace back to where you showed us what you did.. Thanks for the opportunity to win them..
Love your colors. They look great on a memory crazy quilt I have been working on for some time. I always find a space that needs a little more threadwork. Deborah
You have inspired me to make some art quilts like yours, based on photos. These threads would be a wonderful addition to my projects.
Hi! My hand is itching to start stitching again this hand dyed floss would be perfect for my next project. Thanks.
lovely blog! Contratulations!
greetings from Portugal! :)
Monika, I love the colours! They remind me of a warm summer's day. How did you achieve the variegated effect? I like subtle (and sometimes not to subtle) variations in threads - I've ordered some of the Montano Series of silks from Treenway lately because of the luscious colours.
I'm obsessed with hand-dyed work. I love the organic nature of the way the dye takes to the fiber; it makes the end product so rich! Your color choices are delicious, individually and together; I hope you do more.
Your at your show this weekend, right? Hope you are having a lovely time and of course I would enjoy playing with these... makes it more special because you dyed them. And yes, it's a fabulous way to use your business cards! Talk to you soon!
wonderful colours Monika!!
The colours of the floss are truly beautiful. I am currently collecting fabrics and threads for a planned waterlillies quilt in the impressionist style so these would be perfect. Love your stitching, also quite impressionistic.
I would love to win a card. the colors are great!!! I am going to start a book of stitches, sooon
thanks
I do like your use of your card. Embroidery is a nice way to personalize a quilt. great colours.
Wow these embroidery colours really lifted my spirits and warmed me up.Our final "blast" of "Indian Summer" has departed our region and the last number of days here have been unindated with mostly grey skies, cold winds and rain.I truly am a "colour" junkie!
Beautiful colours! I had no idea you could dye floss. I'm sure you've done some beautiful work with it.
I am new to your Blog Monika and I am really enjoying your Saturday stitches. Your hand dyed floss is yummy. I love floss for the marks I can add to my art quilts and for all the beautiful colors. Just like fabric, can't ever have enough!
All right - so glad you got it fixed. And I'm not even too late to be entered into the give away! Bonus!
See you at the show.
Bernie
