- - - NEW Saturday Stitches - - -

Join me every Saturday for the next few months as I teach myself embroidery stitches!  I'll use a neutral fabric or aida cloth and bright contrasting threads for your viewing pleasure. Follow along if you like!  Grab the button if you want to come back quick in a click.  (I made it myself and it was very difficult)  lol

Here is my first sample.  It's a running stitch.  Sound boring?  There are actually some very cool applications.  Check it out!

You can make them long, short, and even wavy.  You can criss-cross the waves.  It's not difficult to get them even on aida cloth.  ON fabric it takes much more skill.  You can draw guide lines or run your fabric through a threadless sewing machine to mark perfectly spaced stitching guide dots.  Watch what else you can do if you add another color to those existing stitches!

You need to use a blunt needle when lacing, or you can turn your needle around and lace it from the blunt eye-end.  Cool, no?  : )  I love interlacing!!  Stay tuned each Saturday for more!

p.s.  For those of you who followed my Tips on Tuesdays posts, please note that this new feature will take its place for the rest of the year... perhaps longer ; )

Yes! Very cool :)
And very clear instructions too.
I can't even imagine how many thimbles I would have to wear to try this LOL !

P.S. do you know about Sharon Boggon and her wonderful stitchery over at Pin Tangle? You might check it out! Also Gail Harker's certificates in contemporary hand stitch (I have a Level 1 cert from her studio)....
