Summer is here, FULL FORCE. We were at a garage sale, and my children sat quietly nose to nose with a flower bush full of bees - just watching. Bees are fun to watch. I've trained them to admire honey bees but run screaming from swarms of wasps (after all, wasps are meat-eaters).
Here's a fun and colorful picture of Canada Anemonies. ; )
This next hydrant is parked outside of the Education Building at the University. I think it deserves a photo, don't you?
Fire hydrants are interesting. I like them like I like trains. Maybe it's the funky paint jobs on both.
In Winnipeg, I noticed TALL posts with fire hydrant signs beside each one. I thought that was odd. I mean... of course it's a fire hydrant, right? Why do you need a sign? My friend Tara told me it's because the snow piles up SO high in the winter that they can't find the hydrants! wow. I thought we got a lot of snow....
I stood there for a long time getting some great close ups. GREAT stitching inspirations for sure!
I thought that was sooo soft and sooo pretty. The closer I looked, the more I saw. I was pleasantly surprised to see at the heart shapes! Nature is a-w-e-s-o-m-e. Sadly, however, when I returned a few days later, they were all dried up and dead. The whole rocky area was obviously sprayed with weed killer. I suppose not everyone has the same admiration for these plants as I do. lol I'm glad I caught it on camera when I did!
