This is the morning after the longest night of the year.
Once the sun was up, gold poured over the fields. It was gorgeous.
GORGEOUS.

This next one is spaceless - blue sky and blue land. The trees really look like they are no where. ; )
On my way home I had to feel sorry for these ladies, standing around in a deep freeze. My goodness.
It wasn't snowing. That's hoar frost on their backs. Yikes. : ) Ice cream anyone?
It was beautiful this morning. It was just so beautiful. I am glad I got out. I really haven't done much sewing or photography since my show went up at The Centre. This morning really filled my spirit. : ) Have a wonderful day everyone, and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate.

Beautiful 'cool' stillness to wake up to on a warm Adelaide morning. thank you Monica. Have a wonderful festive season. Anna x
Thank you for the reminder about the solstice. Being a Melbourne Australia suburb/city dweller with no visible difference between summer and winter I forget to notice the seasons and soltices. Thank you for your beautiful posts. Maybe we could house swap. I would dearly love to experience the peace and beauty of all that snow.
Thanks also for your wonderful blog. Your work is beautiful and one day I hope to have a piece on my wall.
Have a lovely Christmas.
Regards,
Catherine
Beautiful scenes you have here - even if it does look very chilly brrr. Those poor cows standing in that cold field.
Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas period. Keep warm!!!
You always have such beautiful winter solstice photos! I admire you for getting up so early. Nothing would entice me out at that time.
I really love that first photo with the golden light over the cat tails.
A good chuckle over Holly's comment -- early? The sun didn't come up till 9:15. Now in the summer when it is 4:15 I'm hard pressed to see a sunrise but in the winter I've been at work for over two hours before it comes up. And it sets in an hour after I get off work. But SPRING IS COMING!!
And don't feel too sorry for the cattle. They have feed, shelter and are very used to the cold.
It was a beautiful day today and a lovely day for a walk even if it was -28. The dogs and I did a nice km walk on the road today and I was dressed just right.
I really love the winter colours; the blue shadows with the brown grasses poking out of the snow. It's so winter wonderland out there. I truly love winter and living in a country that has four strong seasons.

Merry Christmas Monika , loved the photos !
Monika, I can really see with the hundreds of photos I've viewed on your blog, I can see the inspiration and readily available landscapes to capture in a shot.
Happy Christmas and all the best to the new year.
