Sunday Snapshots

Oooh!!!  I got some neat-o pictures this week.  I was in a downtown parking lot and realized I was parked near these stationary train cars.  I took out my camera and wandered around the back alley to got some very interesting photos before heading home.

look at all the color on a white, white day...

I think trains are really awesome.  In the 1970's, I grew up on a farm right by the tracks & the Hamlin grain elevator.  I'm pretty nostalgic about trains.  I love to hear them rumble through at night.  They always made the farmhouse shake a bit and it would rock me to sleep.  Back then, the trains were all brown or green or red as I remember.  We would see the occasionally graffiti, but nothing like we see these days.  And wow - the rust!

so much to see

As I walked I saw even MORE color on the cars at the next rail line.

view through one train over to the next train

All the gears and wheels and steel and ladders... they make me want to climb them!  (I didn't.)

icicles building up on the steel ladder of the train car

Oh how I love the lines and curves and colors and light in this next photo.  : )  What a nice day.

Look at all the colors and curves!

Finally... if this isn't the CUTEST thing!  It just makes me giggle!  It looks like it just slowly rolled itself down the snowbank in a feeble attempt to to adventure out into the big world.  Sweet isn't it?

I hope you enjoyed my Sunday Snapshots this week : )   Have a great day!

I love the trains! I'm nostalgic about them too because I worked in the first group of female porters on the Halifax to Montreal runs back in the 70's. I loved sleeping on them, lulled to sleep by the gentle rocking and the clackedy, clackedy sounds.
I could really see you doing that last one in fiber.

Nice graffiti shots. Yesterday must have been the day for it as I was trying to get some train graffiti as well. I was stopped at a rural rail crossing coming home from the barn and got the camera out when I saw the length of the train. I don't think I've ever seen such a clean set of railcars--most were totally pristine, so not much joy for me there. I'm glad you found a better lot than I did.
