Happy Winter Solstice!

We will be celebrating the Winter Solstice this weekend.  It's the 'longest night of the year', and after that you will notice the days beginning to grow.  We'll eat a big feast, and after supper we will open family gifts.  It's my tradition to take sunshine photos on the first day of winter.  We have snow forecast for the weekend so I headed out this morning for some photos.  I am SO glad I did!  These were all take east on Highway #16.

I went in search of fallen barn, but never got that far.  I did find this gem.  It was HUGE.

Near the railroad track in the ditch by the highway were the prettiest colors!!  So soft...

Can anyone identify the red plants / reeds in the above photo?  I saw them at Cranberry Flats closer to the river.  OH!  This next one: the more I look into it, the more I love it!  Look at the trees reaching over and into the snow... and the pretty grasses.  : )))

And here... three cow heads and three cow bums : )  In the winter they look so furry and curled.  ahha

They are wondering why I am talking to them like they are cute little babies.

Really, I should have had that on video so you could hear me.  hehe...  Linking to Friday Felicities.

Have a great holiday everyone!!!  I'll post a few more photos over the next couple weeks before I really get back into the studio.  Enjoy your family time.  Stay warm and stay safe.
