Unplugged

Oh the lazy days of summer...  In between cooking mega-style to fill our freezer with meals, catching up with yard work, and staining the double deck, I've been staying unplugged.  I've found some early mornings alone to sketch out some plans for new pieces.

I don't usually sketch my work out first, but I haven't found the time to stitch un-interrupted with the kids home.

These are from the photo shoot I did in early June down Floral Road.  The 'bubbles' are to be French Knots.  It may not make sense to you, but it was good to dig in to these pics and start to plan how it would translate into stitch.

This one is full of trees that haven't been added yet.  I think this one will be made soon.  First - I'm off to stain the fences too.  Back outside.  : )

Have a WONDERFUL & safe Canada Day everyone!

Wow even your sketching is beautiful

It's interesting that the sketches almost look like your stitched pieces. I can see that you have it on mind, particularly where you added the French knots.
It's hard to get time especially with kids at home. Even without kids, there is so much that needs to be done outside.
Happy Canada Day!

Thanks for sharing your sketches. It is always fun to see the planning behind the piece.
