detail of Sundown on Valley Road |
I'm starting to like that one. I didn't at first. I think I will repeat this one a couple times in a variety of crops and sizes. I like the framing of that close up. I like the idea of doing little detailed florals BIG and BIG expansive landscapes small.
Bloom 2. mini. |
Wow. What do you think? I am really happy with this remake. It's only 4 by 6 inches. It's very tiny. It came together so effortlessly. Maybe it was the thread choices I had this time? The original Bloom was sold this summer before it was finished. It measured 6x8 inches and was framed under glass to protect all the teeny stitches of thread. I knew this composition was a winner the day I snapped that photo just east of Saskatoon. Ahhh. I think this one will have a new home soon.
unnamed as of yet. in progress. |
This is another teeny remake of a postcard I made for the "My Happy Place" swap. Believe it or not, those French Knots are all one thread. : ) I will do some very fine outlining in a faint blue rayon thread to outline the clouds. The land and foreground will also get some WOW added. It will be an upscaled version of the postcard. This is a pretty typical summer scene around here. The lines make it very content, but the colors make it very joyful. I like this one.
The next image is a close up of a postcard I made. This is a gift, and I tried to show off the Northern Lights. They were SO incredible this summer! Unfortunately, I was impatient and took this pic at night. Can you tell it's sitting under lamplight?

Here is another 'under the lamplight' photo of a piece that is still quite bare-bones. I think you'll be surprised with how this one will get finished!! I can't wait. I am VERY happy with it so far even though it's still so crude. It's also a remake, and because of the better threads, it's becoming an all around better piece.
6x8. building up the threadwork first... |
As you can see, I've been busy. Last month was full of one large project and loads of paperwork. I am one happy woman this month! My hands are not even bothering me, so I couldn't ask for more! ; )
Linking up to The Needle and Thread Network once again! lol

My first visit here. Your work is just wonderful! Your photo earlier of the fall trees reflecting in the pond is just breathtaking. Have you thought of creating that in thread?
