strawberry leaves from my garden |
I took a bunch of leaves that had changed color, and some odds and ends of thread and yarn. I placed them all under sheer fabric and started to free motion sew. (Yes - I see my thread popped out from the hook there.)
my poor shamrock... being recycled into art. |
All I did was outline the leaves and some main veins with different thread colors. I ended up with three very colorful thread-sketched postcards. It's so very fun to do. These are for a swap I'm in , so I'm popping them into the mailbox today!
Ahh... I think the shamrocks look much better here. Have fun with whatever you make! ; ) You can read more about the prizes and get that flickr link for your work HERE. Good Luck!!
Since I most likely cannot enter, I'm going to Rachel's at Stitched in Color with this last postcard. She has a Celebrate Color event happening and I am so into FALL! ; )

These look wonderful, but I'm sure they are not as easy as you seem to make it look. You definately have an 'eye' for art.
Those look like fun! :)
Good stuff, Monika. I have your pdf on paper beside my sewing machine so I can try your technique. Great tutorial.
I love these cards!
Your postcards are so cool... and you left the leaves under the material? What a fun idea? I look forward to using your tutorial as well.
Such fun cards , I am intrigued by how you used the leaves! I have printed off your great tutorial and will give this a go,thanks so much.
Very nice, Monika! Postcards are very cool!!
These are FABULOUS Monika! LOVE the shimmer background also.
Those are very pretty and they look fun to make!
Thanks for introducing us to 3CreativeStudios. Congratulations on your tutorial. I was just in the process of printing it when my printer ran out of ink. (I've been milking it for a loooong time haha) I've also been reading through the Creative Artists Archive. What a goldmine of information.
Thank you!
Joyce
