Christmas in July - Giveaway!

The fine folks at "A Needle Pulling Thread" sent me complimentary issues of their magazine as thanks for contributing.  Since I already happen to have these two issues, I would like to share my extras with you!

Festive 2010, Spring 2011 underneath

I've seen so many Christmas in July sales lately, that I figured you wouldn't mind.  This publications is perfect for the eclectic crafter - which is why I love them so much.  They cover projects, patterns, and instructions in:

quilting
crochet
knitting
cross stitch
beadwork
rug hooking
canvaswork
hardanger
fibre art
needle tatting
swedish weaving
embroidery
creative sewing
and more!

Here's a little peek inside the issues up for grabs.  The photography, by the way, is gorgeous in this magazine!

You get the idea?  Beautiful!  Eclectic.  I could photograph every page.  It's all gorgeous!  To see exactly which projects are included, click HERE for previews.  Click on the magazine of choice and it will bring up a PDF file to see them all full size (you may have to reduce the images for better viewing).

To enter for the draw to win both issues, leave your name in the comments section.  Tell me what crafts you do/have done, and what crafts you would love to get into next.  That's all!  I'll announce a winner on Tuesday July 12.  It's best NOT to respond anonymously or I'll never be able to find you.  If blogger is not doing it's job, then you can leave your comment on my Facebook page under the post of this title only please.  People at the Hive should come leave their comments directly onto my blog if you don't mind.  I know lots of you will LOVE these magazines!  Context closes Monday midnight, July 11.

Good luck!

~Monika

Hi Monika! This year I've quilted, done punch needle embroidery, made fabric boxes, flowers and I like wool felting too! I want to get into silk ribbon embroidery and stump work but I need to improve my regular embroidery first! Your blog always makes my day! - Patti Erikson-Reynolds

I've dabbled in ceramics and glass blowing, made jewelry with wire, string and beads, but my main passion is sewing... quilting, clothes, household item. I've tried knitting and a few papercrafts (neither are for me). I'd LOVE to try out blacksmith-ing or welding if I could find a class or had the room or money! Thanks for the give away!

Hi Monika
I sew, quilt, knit, crochet, make cards. This year I made felt from scratch at a workshop and my 16 year old did one as well. I must admit her's was much better than mine. I'd love to learn to do tatting.

Hi. I sew, used to cross stitch a lot, basic knitting, and am new to quilting but it's all I'm interested in right now. Thanks for the chance.

Hi Monika

I've done embroidery, knitting, crochet, petit point, cross stitch, needlepoint, rug hooking, and some paper crafts. But my true love is sewing, especially quilting. I'm not sure what I'd like to try next. I love to wander through Michaels, and read crafty magazines and if something looks like fun, I'll try it!

Nothing new I want to try at the moment, just want to work on some of these I've tried already!

I quilt! I embroider! I have thread-painted (badly) and knitted even worse. One day I might do a cross stitch, but I'm not making any promises.

Hello,

I love all kinds of crafts. Quilting, sewing, painting, ceramics, jewelery making, making stuffed animals, etc... The next project that I want to do is make a cover for my camera strap.

I am a quilter but have a cross stitch project on the go also. I also did crocheting years ago but once I discovered quilting that is where my heart is.

Hi I've done a tiny bit of embroidery, a tiny bit more beadwork, a little bit of quilting, a fair bit of crochet and lots and lots of knitting and cross stitch.

I'd like to try fibre art and swedish weaving (sounds intrguing)and creative sewing (well other than getting creative to make a dress fit)oh, and the 'and more!' - I've never heard of that - can't wait to see what it is. ;D

Right now I am addicted to quilting. So far I only have made block quilts. The thing I would like to get in to next is more paper piecing. I have done a few blocks, but am very interested in the beautiful blocks I could do with paper piecing. Thanks for the chance to win!

Hi Monika, it looks like a great magazine. I started with sewing, branched into quilting (which is my big passion!) but have added stamping, journaling, fabric dyeing, and I am thinking of beginning to carve my own stamps this weekend!

Hi Monika,
I started sewing at age 10 making clothes for my barbie dolls. Garment construction is still my favourite passion. I learned to crochet (the hot 70's thing to have a crochet vest)and knit and then learned to quilt when my son was 1yr old (21 years ago). Now I make fabric postcards with you. I have also tried almost every other crafting thing along the way to be creative.

Judee said...

Hi,
I am Judee. I do quilting and knitting. I would like to do landscape quilts (like yours!)

Oh gosh. I think I started with garments, then knitting but crochet seemed faster. Macrame went by the wayside fairly quickly. QUILTING that has morphed into fibre arts(and all that entails) and now I want to add altered books to the mix.

At this time, I'm mostly interested in quilting even though I haven't actually done much of it. I've always been a "crafty" person and am from a family of makers (typical Saskatchewan farm family types).

The only problem for me is that working full time greatly interferes with my making anything ... including dinner.

emma Klasen oh christmas mags oh love them cant wait to see what is new to make

Monika,
I too started as a sewer - basically because I was too cheap 30 years ago to buy nurses uniforms!! I took up quilting 5 years ago and love it but like Heather I find working full time gets in my way! The other thing that gets in my way is restoring old houses - does that count as a craft. I am very crafty with old doors - turning them into upholstered headboards or redoing old chairs. In my spare time (haha) I love to scrapbook and make cards. I know that fabric postcards is going to be a huge favorite. I can knit (not well) and I can crochet (even worse!) but I can bake up a storm. Seems like a typical Sask rural farm girl!
