The sky threads are variegated rayons, and the brown is metallic! It came in a mixed set and I had no idea there was a metallic in there. I couched some of my new funky fibres from Jesica onto there. ; )
If you saw in yesterday's post, I quilted the spring field with sage green embroidery machine thread. Then I did some silk ribbon embroidery by hand. I put long grasses in the foreground and I stitched blue french knots in the spaces that were predominantly blue. I did that until the blue ran out.
Next - some lavender colored blossoms were added mid ground. There are also purple metallic threads that I seed stitched which really make the whole thing pop, and give it so much depth. Now it looks like something I made. ; )
photo taken on my phone. not bad!! |
Now... off to shop for a new camera. You know my sweet boy who can read? He dropped the camera and dislocated the entre inner lense casing. It's garbage. Darn. I managed to knock it like a coke machine and made work for a bit so I could load some of my photos for today and tomorrow.
See you tomorrow for TIPS ON TUESDAYS!! ; ) The topic is PAINTING OF FABRIC! : )

Monika, You are worse than me. do you never sleep? I think it is incredible how you turn some colored strips of fabric into such an incredible collection of colors and textures!

Again, it's going to be one amazing piece of artwork. I can get over how much you get done...amazing. Is it cold there, it's -28C here today.
Sorry to hear about the camera, but it's a good reason to get a new one! Like Flo I will look forward to seeing the complete landscape...
