Autumn at Cranberry Flats

I finished the handstitching on this 'detour' piece lastnight!  I think after all those hours, I can actually say there is more hand stitching on this one than there is free machine work.

Autumn at Cranberry Flats, 2012

The leaves, most of the bushes, and the rosehips are all done with needle in hand.  Any bare spots in the machine-stitched grasses were all filled in by hand.  I love it!  I spent over four hours lastnight on the handwork.  I've taken so many photos of it, but lastnight was - well - night.  Today is dark and blustery and rainy.  This are pretty close though.

Now I'm off to clean it up and finish the edges.  This piece will be for sale at the Centre Galleries in December.  I'll keep you posted.

OMG, Monika, this is my most favourite piece that you've made, ever!

I don't know how much your pieces sell for, but could you let me know how much you're selling this one for - and if I can afford it (maybe even if I can't!) I'd like to buy it - unless the gallery has that "must be for sale" clause...

That is absolutely incredible! Like Kit and Susan, I'd love to own it, but my budget would be unlikely to stretch that far. Amazing work!
