* * * Happy Winter Solstice * * *
We've enjoyed extremely mild temperatures all month now, and then days and days of fog. Though it's quite colourless outside, the hoar frost is on everything like the province had a big dump of icing sugar! lol
I admit, it looks SO much better once the sun comes out an the big blue sky returns. But I was able to find beautiful pops of colour here and there...
Fat red rosehips and pale ghosts of autumn...
Doesn't it look like sugar-crusted edges!? : ) And this last one here is super-sweet. Teeny tiny little dried up seed pods from some summer flowers, probably just a pile of weeds. But that's just a label, right? It's beautiful and precious to me. Look how dainty!
It's much thicker today, but you'll have to trust me on that. The evergreens hardly look green at all.
We have spent our weekend sledding and because it's so pleasant outside, we can enjoy the great outdoors for hours without ever feeling the sting of the cold on our skin. This totally makes up for last winter!!
MY BOY! AIN'T HE PRETTY!? He's the best thing we ever did for our family. It's been a great first year with him. xo

The very first comment from last week's post was the winner for the Quilter's Connection digital magazine subscription. I asked my daughter to pick a number and she said, ONE. lol I laughed. No one ever picks one. So... #1 it is! Congrats to HEATHER J. and enjoy your Christmas pudding. To everyone else, thank you so much for all your delicious comments. : )
Welcome
