Stitching a Story

Here's a little project I started over the summer.  I don't think I've told you about it!  I got some wonderful little handmade books from Prairie Peasant (Laura Dyck) in Winnipeg when I met her there.  Shortly after that, I landed a beautiful flower press and book at a local garage sale.  The mind began putting things together!

Book + flowers + needle & thread = oh my!

Oh this makes my heart pitter-patter!  It's so darned cute don't you think!?  : )))
Here are some pages so far...

THIS is fun.  It is quiet.  It is delicate.  I have piles of flowers and lots of blonk books.  Who knows what will happen!?  ; )  I think I am making a very special keepsake.  The books all open accordion style and are tied with a pretty ribbon.  Thank you Laura for the lovely books.

  2. I remember you posting about using the flower press in the microwave as I thought -- I wonder how that works. So now I know what you have been doing with them. HM -- this would be an awesome idea for scrapbooking!! Or hand made cards.
    Very inspiring.

  7. Your handmade book of pressed flowers is very lovely! I have folders and pages of pressed flowers and I just love accidentally finding a flower that I've pressed in a random book.
