I finished all the stitching on the 'Scrappy Postcards'. They are VERY scrappy and abstract, but I just love them. They are all woven strips of very bright and high contrasting colors. Aren't they festive!?
: ) Off to the mailbox now. Aren't they pretty? The remind me of a mash of post-holiday wrapping paper. I actually made ten of them. haha. Those little scraps are really fun to use up! I think this is the last of my sewing for 2011. Carpal tunnel surgery is Monday. I'm feeling better about it - though I'll most likely panic when the time comes. They call it "Carpal Tunnel Release" now, and when I heard that, I had a good solid exhale (out with the bad). It seriously can't be any worse than public speaking! haha. ; ) kidding. Bernie - a quilter and an E/R nurse - has assured me that it will take five minutes. I can do that.
Monika,
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful! I have done strip weaving, but with Jude Hill, in softer pieces (you can see her work at Spirit Cloth). I'm going to have to try some cards. I'll bet they're addictive!
Best wishes for comfort and peace during your surgery. "All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well." (Julian of Norwich)
I really like your cards they are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to wish you good luck with your surgery on monday - think of all the painfree stitching you will be able to do :))
These are so cute. I make fabric postcards, one a month, for the first year any time I have a new grandchild.
ReplyDeletewho knew that scraps could look sew good.... great job

ReplyDeleteCute cards, Monika. I missed the eclipse here in Calgary, so thanks for the photo.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the surgery - I'm sure it will be fine and you'll be better than new soon.
