Happy Friday!
Guess what? Kit Lang was kind enough to show me how to edit my blog to make commenting work for EVERYONE (did you hear that Deb, Bernie, etc. etc.!?) I've been blogging for over a year and I constantly get private emails from people who can't comment. No one has ever offered to tell me how to fix it. Kit... she's smart. Thank you Kit! To celebrate, and see all those comments rolling in, I thought a giveaway would be a great way to test it out. How about some of the embroidery floss that I dyed this week? All you have to do is leave a comment.| 4 are variegated, 1 is solid. |
See you tomorrow for - - - Saturday Stitches - - - .

ReplyDeletePretty floss! These colours just happen to be a good match for a quilt top I just made this summer (my first solo effort of which I'm most proud). You've inspired me to consider a few little embellishments.

ReplyDeletelovely blog! Contratulations!
ReplyDeletegreetings from Portugal! :)
Monika, I love the colours! They remind me of a warm summer's day. How did you achieve the variegated effect? I like subtle (and sometimes not to subtle) variations in threads - I've ordered some of the Montano Series of silks from Treenway lately because of the luscious colours.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with hand-dyed work. I love the organic nature of the way the dye takes to the fiber; it makes the end product so rich! Your color choices are delicious, individually and together; I hope you do more.
ReplyDeleteYour at your show this weekend, right? Hope you are having a lovely time and of course I would enjoy playing with these... makes it more special because you dyed them. And yes, it's a fabulous way to use your business cards! Talk to you soon!
ReplyDeletewonderful colours Monika!!
ReplyDeleteThe colours of the floss are truly beautiful. I am currently collecting fabrics and threads for a planned waterlillies quilt in the impressionist style so these would be perfect. Love your stitching, also quite impressionistic.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a card. the colors are great!!! I am going to start a book of stitches, sooon
ReplyDeletethanks
I do like your use of your card. Embroidery is a nice way to personalize a quilt. great colours.
ReplyDeleteWow these embroidery colours really lifted my spirits and warmed me up.Our final "blast" of "Indian Summer" has departed our region and the last number of days here have been unindated with mostly grey skies, cold winds and rain.I truly am a "colour" junkie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours! I had no idea you could dye floss. I'm sure you've done some beautiful work with it.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your Blog Monika and I am really enjoying your Saturday stitches. Your hand dyed floss is yummy. I love floss for the marks I can add to my art quilts and for all the beautiful colors. Just like fabric, can't ever have enough!
ReplyDeleteAll right - so glad you got it fixed. And I'm not even too late to be entered into the give away! Bonus!
ReplyDeleteSee you at the show.
